Inn 2024, French-American Aid for Children’s support would specifically be used to support CFSP staff in Sanctuary’s main Manhattan office in their provision of trauma-informed counseling and groups and activities for children and teens, as well as basic needs assistance. This includes virtual and in-person programs for children and families from literacy groups for mothers and young children, to a positive development group for teen boys, to Camp Hope, an in-person sleepaway summer camp.
Funding also support the Justice & Empowerment for Teens (JET) Initiative, which has developed and implemented an array workshops for young people who are victims or at risk of commercial sexual exploitation —the vast majority of whom have experienced family violence as well, whether witnessing domestic violence or being subjected to child sexual abuse themselves.
